We would like to cordially invite you to join us for this once in a lifetime magical experience in the jungles of Sri Lanka at the Sri Lanka Safari Lodge of Aggressor Adventures. Be whisked away on thrilling excursions to the Wilpattu National and Minneriya Parks, home to the largest population of Asian elephants on the island. The parks are also the protected home of the sloth bears, leopards, crocodiles, jackals, water buffaloes and monkeys.

3 meals daily, (only breakfast on the final day); snacks; towels, linens, etc.; transfers to and from host hotel; alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages. Tours include daily jeep safaris with private guide to Wilpattu and Minneriya National Parks and entrance fees to both. All transportation is in an air-conditioned coach/minibus or car with private driver. All excursions include a private local guide.

Does not include: Local Fees or taxes; Airfare to Sri Lanka or Columbo; Transfers to or from host hotel as well as options before/after jungle safari (look at our Maldives trip) which are available at additional cost; hotel accommodations before/ after the safari, tips, personal expenses; or premium drinks.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Wilpattu National Park
Departing from Negombo at 8:00 am, guests travel to the Aggressor Safari Lodge® near the Wilpattu and Minneriya National Parks. The travel time is several hours.

After check-in and lunch, guests are taken on an afternoon safari into Wilpattu National Park around 2:30 pm to experience big game viewing of the parks with potential to see leopards, elephants, bears, buffalos, deer, crocodiles, jackals and many other animals and birds in their natural, jungle habitat and then back to the Safari Lodge for dinner at night fall.

Day 2 - Sigiriya Rock Palace and Minneriya National Park
After breakfast, guests will leave the lodge at 7:00 am and travel to the 5th Century AD Sigiriya Rock Palace. The palace and fortress complex takes several hours to climb from the bottom to the top.

After lunch at a local restaurant, guests are taken on an afternoon safari from 2:30 pm into Minneriya National Park. It is home to the largest known Asian elephant gathering on Earth. Guests relax and watch as these huge animals drink, play and snack on the green, lush grasses that have been exposed by the receding water. Dinner follows at the Safari Lodge.

Day 3 - A day of rest and relaxations at the lodge
A local guide is available for a village walk or for exploring the flora and fauna on the safari lodge grounds.

Day 4 - Anuradhapura
After breakfast, guests leave the lodge at 7:30 am to travel to the 3rd century BC ancient city in Anuradhapura. It served as the capital city of the country for nearly 1400 years until the beginning of the 11th century AD. During this period, it remained one of the most stable and durable centers of political power and urban life in South Asia. The city also houses the Jetavana, the Abhayagiri Dagaba and Ruwanwelisaya stupa’s that house many ancient Buddhist relics and remains of Buddhist monks and nuns. The Jetavana stupa, is the largest stupa in the Buddhist world in both its dimensions and mass. It is 231 feet high up to its broken pinnacle and it is estimated to be built of 160 million bricks.

•After the morning tour, guests are driven to Polonnaruwa and check into a luxury hotel for lunch and an overnight stay. In the evening (Approximately 6:00 pm), guests will set out on a two to three hour evening safari to see the elusive and shy Sri Lanka slender loris in its natural jungle habitat, before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5 - "Monkey Kingdom" Primate Center

After an early breakfast guests will leave the hotel at 5:30 am and head to Sri Lanka’s Primate Center for a Sri Lankan monkey excursion. Established over 50 years ago, the Primate Center is where Disney Studios filmed the movie "Monkey Kingdom". It is home to three species of Sri Lankan monkeys, the Toque macaque, the gray langur and the purple faced langur. While visiting the monkeys in their natural jungle communities, visitors can observe their complex social interactions. Guests can observe behaviors including nurturing young, courtship, cooperation, and teamwork as well as dominance and aggression as the monkeys go about their day.

After the Monkey Kingdom tour the guests return to the Aggressor Safari Lodge for lunch and have the afternoon free to relax on the grounds or lounge at the lodge swimming pool.

Day 6 - Half Day of rest and relaxations at the lodge + Half Day Wilpattu National Park
Guests choose if they wish to do a morning or afternoon half day Safari in Wilpattu National Park. Lunch is had inside the Wilpattu National Park in an area frequented by troupes of monkeys. A local guide is available for exploring the flora and fauna on the lodge grounds for the rest of the day or the guests can simply relax around the lodge swimming pool.

Day 7 - Early breakfast and a final look around the Aggressor Safari Lodge before leaving for Negombo and your journey home.

The Aggressor Safari Lodge is located on a spacious 6-acre property and 20 minutes from the Wilpattu National Park. The lodge has a main reception, dining tent, entertainment area with a 54 inch TV, 8 luxury private tented chalets, large swimming pool and beautiful grounds with animal life. The luxury-dining tent, is located at the rear of the outdoor reception and bar area and is called the Aliya Bush Restaurant (local for elephant). The Reception Bar is called the Diviya Bar (local for leopard) and the Pool Deck Bar is called the Wallas Walla Bar (Bear Watering Hole). The beautiful property is located on the Kala Oya River, which is the 3rd longest river in Sri Lanka and borders Wilpattu National Park on the other side giving the river view tents direct views of the park.

All private luxury chalet tents are air-conditioned, have memory foam mattresses, private bathrooms with a bathtub/shower, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, robes, and a safe to lock your valuables. The lodge has plenty of hot and cold water with very good water pressure. Meals are included with breakfast (cooked to order), picnic lunches and an elegant dinner with table side service. Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are complimentary while staying at the lodge. Linens are changed daily(upon request)and fresh towels are placed in each chalets needed.

There is a variety of nightly entertainment, including movies, games and books. If you have a favorite movie, digital presentation or a video to share, we encourage you to bring it along. The staff especially loves new releases of movies, recent magazines and books.

All meals, snacks and beverages are provided.

About Sri Lanka:

Sri Lanka is very close to the Equator which means that temperatures remain fairly constant year round. Coastal and lowland areas enjoy an average daytime temperature of 78-86°F / 26-30°C. Sri Lanka is unusual as it has two monsoon seasons with the wettest periods being December and January in the North. Humidity is high everywhere throughout the island.

Getting There, Transfers To and From Lodge:

Colombo (CMB) airport is the only international airport in Sri Lanka and all Aggressor Safari Lodge® guests will fly in and out of Sri Lanka from Colombo. We recommend guests have 1 pre-night in Colombo.

Transfer from the airport to the host hotel, Jetwing Beach Hotel is not included in the price, but can be arranged at the time of the reservation by our in-house travel department, Aggressor Adventure Travel, for an additional charge.

  • All pick ups are from the Jetwing Beach Hotel in Negombo at 8:00 am. Travel time to the Aggressor Safari Lodge is 2.5 hours and is included in your package.

  •  

  • Guests will be taken back to the Jetwing Beach Hotel if they are staying in Sri Lanka or to the airport.

 

Passports & Visa Documentation:

Visitors must have a current passport, adequate funds to support themselves, and a return airline ticket. US citizens require a passport that must be valid for 6 months from date of entry. It is the travelers’ responsibility to ensure they have the proper visa to travel into each country on his or her itinerary as well as for re-entry and return to their country. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement.

E-Visa ETA are required for all travelers: E-Visa Application Link
It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and pay for online and is good for a 30 day stay in Sri Lanka. The cost is $35 (subject to change without notice) and most airlines will want to see the printed and approved ETA upon check-in when flying to Sri Lanka. This is the responsibility of each traveler.
 

Medical/ Safe Travel Requirements:

All travelers are required to ensure that they individually meet the safety/ medical travel requirements into the host country.

Local Fees/Taxes:

Your daily Jeep Safari’s and access to Wilpattu and Minneriya National Park are inclusive of your package at the Aggressor Safari Lodge.
However, each guest must pay the following World Heritage entrance fees:

Climbing Sigriya Rock & Museum: $30

Anuradhapura Heritage Site: $25

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa near the Monkey Primate Center: $25
