What You Will Learn

You will understand the relevant standards for the particular specialty course, understand the various components, and get hands-on experience of how to effectively teach this and get to students to come back for more.

We have pre-selected the following 5 instructor specialties for the MSDT Prep based on the local area and which will give you the best value taking the course with our Course Director.  The decision is also based on what specialties are best for you, as a new instructor and to make you a more employable instructor.

Some Specialties are relatively easy to teach while others require advanced diving techniques and in-depth theory explanations.  One reason why instructors don’t teach many specialties is that they don’t feel comfortable or confident teaching them.  By taking the specialty instructor training courses with a Course Director, and understanding the practicalities of teaching them, you will feel confident and ready to pass on your knowledge and passion to your future students.

Prerequisites

All PADI Instructors will benefit from taking specialty instructor training courses, especially those who are ready to step up to the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating, which requires, at least, five PADI Specialty Instructor certifications.

PADI Assistant Instructors, instructor candidates in training, and PADI Divemasters are eligible to enroll in certain specialty instructor courses. Some specialties have additional prerequisites and exit requirements.

The Fun Part

You’ll learn new techniques to add to the experience you already have in a specialty area and have fun fine-tuning your skills and teaching methods. Plus, you’ll get great ideas for marketing your specialty diver courses.
