Open Water Diver
Dreaming to be a certified scuba diver? If you have always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, go on a hands-on aquatic adventure with DIVE ARMY, or simply see the beauty of underwater world, then let DIVE ARMY be your choice to get you certified! The Open Water Diver course is taught in English and American Sign Language.
What You Will Learn
-
Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
-
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
-
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!
You may be able to get college credit for the Open Water Diver course.
Prerequisites
To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
Waterskills: Before completing up the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will have to demonstrate basic water skill comfort by doing:
-
Swim 200 metres/yards (or 300 metres/yards in mask, fins, and snorkel). There is no time limit for this, and you may use any swimming strokes you want.
-
Float and tread water for 10 minutes, again using any methods that you want.
The Fun Part
The fun part of this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to scuba dive is awesome. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you’ll mark to not forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you will make at least five pool dives and four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. After this, we will issue you with a card that will allow you to dive with a buddy and unsupervised to 60 feet/18 meters. Want to go deeper after that? Try the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.
